Spartan Moving
and Storage

Steep OTR staircases, hillside streets, a colonial with a full basement out in Mason — our crew has worked every kind of Tristate home, and the flat price we put in writing is the price you pay.

Give us the basics of your move — a single flat figure comes back in writing, yours to keep, usually before the hour is up

Expect your written number the same day you ask, usually within hours. Free estimate, no strings. Whatever details you share stop at our Cincinnati office — nothing gets resold, and nothing gets handed off to a broker.

02 Why us

The truck parked on your street is registered to Spartan, and the movers carrying your boxes are on our own payroll

When you hire Spartan Moving and Storage, the rig that pulls up belongs to us and the uniformed crew climbing your stairs answers to our office — nobody you have never met touches your belongings. Brokers work the other way around: they shop your move to the lowest bidder of the week, take their cut at signing, then disappear and leave some unknown carrier to sort out the day itself.

Spartan Moving and Storage
  • Every job is run by our own uniformed, background-checked movers — no day labor, no handing your home to whatever carrier happened to have a truck idle that week
  • The flat figure you sign off on is exactly what shows up on the final bill — same number, down to the dollar
  • The crew that wraps your first piece is the crew that sets the last one down — one team, start to finish, both addresses
  • Insurance covers every shipment we carry, and behind that sits our Ohio (PUCO) household-goods license together with the USDOT/MC authority that interstate work calls for
  • A real Cincinnati office answers the phone, and the same name stays with you from your first question to the last box over the threshold
What a broker does
  • Passes your job to whichever crew bids lowest the week your call comes in
  • Watches the bill climb on moving day with charges that never came up at booking
  • Loads your whole household onto a truck run by strangers you were never introduced to
  • Has no clear answer about whose insurance covers a scratch or a dent when one turns up
  • Sits a call center between you and the actual movers, keeping the people holding your boxes a couple of transfers out of reach
03 How we quote

One flat price.
Put in writing.
The clock never runs.

First we go through everything you are actually moving, then we lock it to a single binding figure before a box ever leaves the room — no hourly clock counting up while the bill grows. The quote is the cost, and it holds on moving day whether your place is a narrow OTR row house with steep original stairs, a hillside home on Mt. Adams, or a colonial with a packed full basement out in Mason.

Locked at the start, and that is that

a quick look around your place, in person or over video, sets the flat price — and it does not move after

No surprise lines at checkout

no stair fee for the three-floor row house, no shuttle charge for a tight Mt. Adams street, no long-carry tack-on for street-only parking

The same crew at both doors

the Spartan crew that loads you in Cincinnati is the crew that unloads you wherever the move ends up

04 Keeping your move safe

Snow on the steps or a dry July afternoon, the wrap and the floor cover go down exactly the same

Pads, stretch film, and shrink wrap ride on every truck, so a dresser stays blanketed and its drawers stay shut whether we are easing a sectional down a tight OTR staircase, hauling a four-bedroom out of a full basement in West Chester, or working a hillside place on Clifton's steep streets. Through the Ohio River valley winter we lay heavy runners against snow, slush, and the salt off the sidewalks, pad the door jambs and the railings, and watch the icy hillside steps so nothing slips — and when a basement or a low-lying river-town home calls for it, we crate and lift to keep your things clear of any damp.

Quilted pads

Headboards, dining tables, and dressers are blanketed where they stand, wrapped up before they ever reach a doorway or start down the front steps.

Stretch film

Cushions stay clean and drawers stay closed, filmed tight against winter slush and road salt on the walk out to a truck parked at the curb.

Floor & stair guards

Before a single box moves, we run heavy floor cover over hardwood and original-stair treads, pad the railings and jambs, and grip the icy steps — so a row house or hillside home looks the same when we leave as when we arrived.

Custom crating

A glass tabletop, a framed print, a marble piece, a mounted TV — each gets measured in place and built into a crate cut to fit before it ever leaves the room.

Take apart & reassemble

Beds, dining sets, and sectionals come apart to clear narrow row-house halls and steep turns, then we put every piece back together once it is inside.

Straps, dollies & rigging

A baby grand off a hillside porch, the heaviest safe in a finished basement, a long carry down a street-parked block — each gets the right straps and gear, and the full kit rides on every truck.

05 How it works
1

Tell us the basics

Where you are, where you are headed, the date you are eyeing, and the size of the place — two minutes, and nothing owed yet.

2

Your flat price, in writing

We go through what you are actually moving, factor in the stairs, the parking, and the carry, then commit it to one figure you can hold us to.

3

The crew arrives ready

Uniformed and background-checked, on time, trucks stocked with pads, floor cover, and stair runners — rain, snow, or shine.

4

Done at the price we quoted

We load, we drive, we reset each room — and the final bill matches the number you approved at the start.

09 Our coverage

From our Cincinnati base, our trucks reach every corner of Greater Cincinnati — and across the river into Northern Kentucky

10 Good to know

What Tristate neighbors usually ask us before they book

Are you a moving company?
Yes — Spartan Moving and Storage is a fully licensed and insured Greater Cincinnati moving company running our own trucks and uniformed crews, with Ohio PUCO license and USDOT/MC authority.
How do you land on the price?
It starts with a short look around your home, either in person or over a video call. From what you are actually moving — plus the stairs, the parking, and how far the carry runs — we write down one flat rate with no hourly clock under it. That single figure covers the whole job.
What kind of lead time do you need to lock in a date?
Summer and the end-of-month weekends fill first, so for those aim for three or four weeks of notice if you can manage it. Mid-week, mid-month, and the slower winter dates tend to open up faster, and whenever a crew has an empty slot we are happy to take a same-week or short-notice job.
What kinds of moves does your crew handle?
Anything from a local move around Cincinnati and across the Tristate to a long haul out I-71, I-75, or I-74 to most of the country. OTR row houses with steep original stairs, hillside homes on Mt. Adams and Clifton, full-basement colonials in Mason and West Chester, river-town Victorians over in Covington — all of it is routine. A piano, a gun safe, a houseful of antiques ride with us just the same.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Spartan carries an Ohio (PUCO) household-goods license, USDOT/MC authority for interstate work, and full cargo and liability coverage. If your building, HOA, or condo board needs a certificate of insurance, send over what they require and we will usually have a COI out the same day.
Can you deal with a steep row house, a hillside home, or street-only parking?
That is everyday work for us in this city. Narrow OTR staircases, tight hillside streets on Mt. Adams and Price Hill, curb-only parking with a long carry to the door, finished basements and walk-up attics — tell us the address and the access, and we map out the load and the carry before the truck ever pulls up.
What about a piano, a safe, or something really heavy?
No trouble — uprights, baby grands, and concert grands are regular jobs, and the crew arrives with the boards, straps, and rigging each one calls for. Gun safes, heavy antiques, and oversized artwork get the same careful, unhurried handling, narrow doorways and steep turns included.
Do you pack, and do you bring the boxes?
We do — book a full pack and we box the entire house, or go partial and we handle just the rooms full of fragile things. We roll up with the boxes, the paper, and the tape already on the truck.
Do you offer storage between moves?
We do — the storage is right in our name. For a closing that slips, a renovation that runs long, or a student turnover near UC, we hold your things in heated, secured storage and run them out to the new place with the same crew when you are ready.
